Shipping & Delivery

Where can I ship a Gift Card to?
American Express Gift Cards can be delivered to the purchaser or the recipient. American Express® Business Gift Cards can only be shipped to the business entity that placed the order.

You cannot ship Gift Cards to PO Boxes, APO or FPO addresses, or international addresses.

How long does it take for an eGift Card to be delivered?
Most approved eGift orders are delivered within 5 minutes, but can take up to 24 hours.

How long does it take for a Gift Card to be delivered?
Delivery time depends on the shipping method selected. You can opt for Rush (2-3 business days), Expedited (3-4 business days), or Standard (5-6 business days).

If you selected a shipping method that has a tracking number it will be emailed once the order ships.

Actual delivery times are subject to order information verification, processing, and carrier transit timeframes. As delivery delays are beyond our control, refunds cannot be provided if your order is delayed by the carrier.

Holiday Delivery
We have been working with our carriers to plan for the expected surge in shipping volume this holiday season, but delays are still expected. While we do our best to provide our best estimated delivery dates to you, high shipping volume may result in delays to those estimates.

We will not be responsible for delivery delays due to unforeseen circumstances beyond our control, such as delays due to severe weather, natural disasters or strikes. Due to increased safety measures we are taking during COVID-19, orders may be temporarily delayed beyond our standard shipping times. Because we do not control these shipments, we cannot guarantee delivery and refunds will not be issued for delivery delays.

Why doesn’t my American Express user ID work on AmexGiftCard.com?
AmexGiftCard.com is a separate website with its own user ID and password, and therefore your American Express user ID cannot be used to sign in to the site. Once you create your user ID and password on AmexGiftCard.com, you can sign in to the website and view past orders placed after July 17, 2018, modify personal information, and create an address book for future orders.

Why am I unable to view my American Express payment method details and personal information when I sign in to AmexGiftCard.com?
AmexGiftCard.com is a separate website that does not automatically import your American Express payment method details and personal information from AmericanExpress.com. However, you can set up a user ID and password on AmexGiftCard.com and view past orders placed after July 17, 2018, modify personal information, and create an address book for future orders.

To view orders placed after July 17, 2018, sign in to AmexGiftCard.com with your user ID and password, and view past orders under My Account. For orders placed before July 17, 2018, please call 1-877-297-4438.

Where can I buy an American Express Gift Card?
You can buy American Express Gift Cards online at AmexGiftCard.com. You can also buy them at participating retail stores.

Where can I find my order history?
To view orders, sign in to AmexGiftCard.com with your user ID and password, and view past orders under My Account. You can also click Track Orders and use your Email Address and Order Number.

Does AmexGiftCard.com sell eGift cards?
Yes, American Express sells Gift Cards for email delivery. Please select ‘email’ as a delivery type on your choice of card and the follow steps to purchase. Once you have purchased, your email Gift Card can be accessed on https://balance.amexgiftcard.com.

Does my American Express eGift Card expire?
Your expiration date is nine (9) years from the date of purchase. This expiration date is listed on your account for your reference. Funds do not expire. Contact American Express Gift Card customer care for a replacement account number upon account expiration.

Messages and Image Guidelines
We review all personal messages and custom images submitted. Personal messages and/or custom images may NOT:

- Be sexually explicit or suggestive, unnecessarily violent or derogatory of any ethnic, racial, gender, religious, professional or age group, profane or pornographic, contain nudity or partial nudity, or any materially dangerous activity

- Promote alcohol, illegal drugs, tobacco, or firearms/weapons (or the use of any of the foregoing), and cannot promote or portray any activities that may appear unsafe or dangerous, or any particular political agenda or message

- Be offensive, endorse any form of hate or hate group, or offensive gestures

- Be a celebrities’ likeness as the focus of the image

- Contain watermarks or text-in-image

- Infringe on or violate any copyright, patent, trademark, trade secret, right of publicity, or other intellectual property, proprietary, or contractual right of a third party and cannot contain any personal identification such as license plate numbers, personal names, email addresses or street addresses

- Contain third party trademarks or trade dress or otherwise infringe on or violate any copyright, trademark, or other intellectual property rights of a third party



When creating your own custom gift card keep in mind the following:

- Ensure custom images are clear and not broken on the design preview

- Ensure custom logos are positioned in the intended area and are clear on the design preview

- Final approval is subject to the discretion of InComm and the card issuers and we reserve the right to deny a submission for any reason, including where such submission violates these guidelines.

What payment methods can I use to purchase a Gift Card?
You can purchase Gift Cards using American Express, Visa, Mastercard or Discover credit cards.

Lost or Stolen Cards

What do I do if my Gift Card is lost or stolen?
If you believe that your Card has been lost or stolen, you need to notify us immediately by calling 1-888-846-4308. You will be asked to provide us with the Card number and other identifying information. We cannot provide a replacement Card unless you provide your Card number and all other requested information. If our records show a balance remaining on the Card, we will cancel the lost Card and issue a replacement Card to you in an amount equal to the remaining balance.

How do I use my American Express Gift Card to shop in-store?
1. Be sure to know your balance before you shop. Check your balance at https://balance.amexgiftcard.com or call 1-888-846-4308. To use your Gift Card along with another form of payment, just tell the cashier how much you want to apply to each payment type.

Please note, not all merchants allow split payment transactions and some transaction types require a hold of up to 20% above the purchase amount. See your Cardholder Agreement for more information.

2. Swipe your Card and select Credit on the keypad.

Your American Express Gift Card and eGift Card purchased on AmexGiftCard.com can also be used in-store to pay when added to digital wallets: Apple Pay®, Samsung Pay, and Google Pay.

How do I use my American Express Gift Card to shop online?
1. The safety and security of your Gift Card is important to us. To avoid your card being declined when shopping online, please use at online merchants that require the card number, expiration and security code.

2. Make sure the balance of the American Express Gift Card is more than the entire cost of the purchase, including taxes.

Please note: some transaction types require a hold of up to 20% above the purchase amount. See your Cardholder Agreement for more information.

3. Select ‘Credit’ or ‘Debit’ as the payment method (Do not select ‘Gift Card’).

4. In the Payment Method section, enter the card information as you would a credit or debit card.

5. In the Billing Address section, please fill in your name and address.

How do I add my American Express Gift Card to a digital wallet?
Your American Express Gift Card and eGift Card purchased on AmexGiftCard.com can also be used in-store to pay when added to digital wallets: Apple Pay®, Samsung Pay, and Google Pay.

1.Open the Wallet/App on your device.

2.Follow the on-screen instructions, including entering your card number manually or taking a picture of your plastic card.

Where can I use my American Express Gift Card?

You can use your American Express Gift Card virtually anywhere American Express® Cards are accepted within the United States and District of Columbia, except the Gift Card may not be used for recurring billing or at ATMs.

You can use your American Express eGift Card with any United States-based online, phone, or mail-order merchants wherever American Express Cards are accepted. Please remember, you will only be able to shop with merchants in the United States and District of Columbia. Your eGift Card cannot be used for transactions requiring a physical card.

How do I activate my Gift Card?

You can activate your Gift Card at https://balance.amexgiftcard.com or by calling the toll-free number listed on the back of your Card (1-888-846-4308). You will need to provide your Card number, valid thru date, and security code located on the back of your Card.

We recommend that you record the following information in case your Gift Card is ever lost or stolen: Gift Card number, 4-digit Card Identification Code on the front of the card and the expiration date.

Can I use my Card at gas stations?
When paying at the pump, some merchants can authorize and hold up to $175 or the full value of your card, whichever amount is smaller to ensure you have sufficient funds. So, make sure you always know your balance. To avoid the hold at the pump, give your card to the attendant to prepay for the gas.

Why is the merchant charging me for more than what I signed on my receipt?
Some purchases require a preauthorization wherein the merchant sends in a transaction for a higher amount than the purchase. This most often occurs at the gas pump or at a restaurant. When dining out, restaurants typically add 20% to your total to account for the tip. We are required to approve and hold funds based on the estimated total until the merchant finalizes the transaction. Merchant finalization can take up to 7 business days.

Can I convert an American Express eGift Card into a physical, plastic
gift card?
No, we cannot transfer your funds onto a physical gift card.

Can I get cash with my American Express Gift Card?
American Express Gift Cards cannot be used at ATMs nor can you get cash back from any of your purchases.

How do I check the balance on my American Express Gift Card?
Simply go to https://balance.amexgiftcard.com and enter your Gift Card’s 4- digit Security Code located on the front of the card, Expiration Date, and Card Number.

Cancel Order

Can I cancel an order?
In the interest of processing your order as quickly as possible, once your order has been submitted there is no way to return or cancel the order. We highly encourage you to review your cart and checkout details before checking out.

Can I get a refund on my Gift Card purchase?
You may be able to get a refund on your purchase. Terms and conditions apply. See Cardholder Agreement for details or call 1-833-205-8622 to find out how you can get a refund on your purchase.

Are there monthly fees or usage fees with my American Express eGift Card?
There are no fees associated with your American Express eGift Card, other than the purchase fee.

I lost my order confirmation email. How can I get it reissued to me?
Please contact American Express Gift Card for assistance at 1-833-205-8622 to obtain another order confirmation email.

I gave an American Express eGift Card as a gift. What if the recipient does not receive the email notification?
You can use the Order Tracker on AmexGiftCard.com to resend an email to the gift recipient or please contact 1-833-205-8622 for assistance with reissuing.

If you and/or the recipient have not received your eGift and you need to resend or change the email address, please click on the Change/Resend email link in your email titled Your Order Is On Its Way.
